About Reinaldo Gibbs

Social Work and Ministry

An experienced social worker based in Tampa, Florida, Reinaldo Gibbs earned a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Panama in 1980 and later completed a master of social work and post-graduate social work supervision and training at Hunter College in New York City. He began working as a child protective supervisor with the New York Administration for Children's Services in 1994 and was promoted to child protective manager within four years. Reinaldo Gibbs served 16 years in this role, during which time he oversaw protective diagnostic investigations of child abuse and maltreatment.

Mr. Gibbs was a local office manager with the New Jersey Department of Children and Families from 2013 to 2015. He managed more than 150 staff members and led interviews for new employees and prospective promotions. In addition, he conducted quarterly case review presentations to enhance best-case practice and submitted monthly Department of Children Protection and Permanency reports.

Most recently, Reinaldo Gibbs served three years as director of social services at the 175-bed Amboy Care Center in New Jersey. He was also an adjunct professor of social work at Middlesex County College from 2015 to 2020. Active in local ministry, Mr. Gibbs earned an award from the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists for his commitment to its prison and men's ministry programs.
